Epson has announced a new range of consumer printers with the full line-up due to be on sale in the UK by July 2009.
The company says the home-use products "offer something for everyone, whether you want high quality photos or cost-effective colour printing".
The £89.99 Epson P50 claims to give amateur photographers more creativity allowing them to produce images that apparently last longer than lab prints.

Canon has announced the Pixma Pro9500 Mark II, a 10-colour pigment inkjet printer capable of producing prints up to A3+ size.
The printer will allow you to print on gloss and matte media without the need to swap inks, and supports ICC profiles for many types of specialist media.

7th Oct Sony launches two portable photo printers

Sony has announced the DPP-FP97 and DPP-FP67, two new portable printers for photo printing on-the-go.
Both models produce 4 x 6-inch photo prints, however the DPP-FP97 model prints photos in about 45 seconds, while the FP67 model takes around 63 seconds.
The FP97 model also has a few more added functionalities, including an auto touch-up feature to correct white balance focus, exposure and red-eye, and HDMI output for high-definition slideshow on your HDTV.

Dell has launched its new Wasabi PZ310 ultra-mobile printer designed for instant photo printing at anytime, wherever you are.

Sony has submitted a patent application in America that appears it could be planning some sort of touchscreen printer.
The patent held at the US Patent and Trademark Office is titled "Image forming device, having an ejection tray, and a display is mounted to a cover", which basically means a clamshell printer with a touchscreen surface on the top of it.
